My Background and Teaching Experience
I grew up in Silverton, Oregon and graduated from Silverton Union High School in 1992. (22 years ago!)
Following that I attended Pacific Lutheran University where I majored in Biology. After my time at PLU I moved to Portland, Oregon where for six years I pursued a musical career. In 2003 I enrolled at Portland State University where I earned my Master's Degree in Education.
From 2004 to 2007 I taught 8th grade science and coached football and wrestling at Covington Middle School. During that time, My wife Alexa and I decided we wanted to live abroad and ended up going to an international school job fair in San Francisco. While there we accepted jobs at Hong Kong Academy. Over the past five years I've had the opportunity to teach middle school Math, Science, Design Technology; as well as high school General Science and DP Biology.
I'm thrilled to be back living in the Pacific Northwest and teaching here at Heritage High School!

Interests and Hobbies
My first love is music - rock & roll in particular. I love my drums so I have to post a photo.
Travel
Living in Hong Kong for five years provided my wife and I the opportunity to see much of China and SE Asia. The chance to meet the wonderful people of that region and to experience the natural beauty has been a life-changing experience. Here are a few photos of the places I've been fortunate enough to visit.
